How it works

You swipe

Posters from the library appear one at a time. Swipe right if you would happily watch it tonight, left if you would not. There is no wrong answer and nobody sees your individual choices.

It finds the overlap

Everyone in the session swipes at the same time on their own phone. As soon as the same title is liked by everybody, the app announces a match on all screens at once. That is your film.

You go and watch it

Swiparr does not play anything itself — it only decides. Open the matched title in Jellyfin or your TV app as normal.

Running a session

  1. Open swipe.karafa.net in a browser — on a phone it works best.
  2. Sign in with your existing Jellyfin username and password. There is no separate account to create.
  3. Create a new session. You get a link (and usually a short code) to share.
  4. Send that link to whoever is watching with you — a message, a group chat, or just show them the screen.
  5. Everyone swipes. Wait for the match.
Guests do not need an account

Anyone you send the link to can join by typing a nickname — no registration, no password, nothing to install. They cannot see or play anything in the library; they can only swipe in that one session. It is perfectly safe to send to a friend who is visiting.

Getting a good result

Common questions

Do I have to use this?

Not at all. It is a convenience and nothing else. It does not affect playback, your account, or anything in Jellyfin — ignoring it entirely costs you nothing.

Can other people see what I swiped left on?

No. Only matches are shown — the titles everybody liked. Your rejections stay private.

Is there an app to install?

No, it runs in the browser. On a phone you can add it to your home screen from the browser's share menu and it will behave like an app.

It only shows films that already exist?

Yes — it swipes through the actual library, so a match is always something you can watch immediately. For titles the library does not have, use the request system instead.
